”This painting is a celebration of texture. Oranges, with their layers of varying textures, are a visual feast! To capture the heavy rind over soft pith over juicy flesh, I literally painted one layer on top of another. I was careful to not completely cover the bottom layer, but instead to preserve areas of the pink flesh peeking through the blanket of pith. I loved capturing this rich display of depth and texture.” —Adam
